Welcome to Build Season 2025!
September 7, 2025 update from Bonnie
During the week at both houses Ken kept the newly sodded and seeded lawns wet, and he has had success with great looking lawns so far. He even had to mow the sod this week! Good news after all that hot weather we had when the sod went down!
This week, after moving the fence on the north of our property back a few feet, our weekly volunteers also plotted out Heather's house on our new property. At Silvia and Haylee's houses, Steve and Ron installed the windowsills.
Saturday September 6
Today we had about 24 volunteers at our site, where at coffee break Bonnie gave a devotion and at lunchtime Walmart provided a sandwich lunch. Thanks, Walmart!
At Silvia's house volunteers installed a laundry room cupboard and put in door knobs while Silvia swept up and painted door frames. The closet doors were delivered to the property to be installed as well as the kitchen appliances. Volunteers started to install those appliances and will continue next week.
At Haylee's house Dawn and Haylee painted door trim while others washed windows. At the Warehouse Dawn and Haylee continued painting and reassembling her doors.
At the Warehouse, volunteers continued building walls in preparation of Heather's build, while she panted the HVAC vents with water repellent paint. Heather is looking forward to seeing her foundation dug by the Cudaback crew on Tuesday.
No building over the Labor Day Holiday. Enjoy the holiday!
August 13, 2025 update from Tracy
Hello everyone I thought it was about time to get out another update on what has been happening at the job site and what we have going on in the near future.
Doors, trim and cabinets all appear to be in in house one, carpet pads, shelving and closet rods were being installed yesterday. It appears that all the fencing is in except that that was left unfinished sod could be laid which is going to take place this Saturday, so if you and anyone else needs something to do we would be glad to see you Saturday.
Steve and others have been working on the countertops for house one and have just a bit more to do before they will be installing them, probably tomorrow.
House two was getting a lot of cleaning yesterday in preparation for flooring to be installed yesterday afternoon or today. Cabinets are going to be delivered today so we will be able to start installing them tomorrow and continue on Saturday.
We have gotten some good news about house three. Jerry was told yesterday that we should be able to begin digging footings around August 26 or 27. So now he is marking walls that can soon be nailed assembled at the warehouse.
Again we will be working Saturday to lay sod and installing cabinets, there are no lunches planned at this time until after Labor Day.
Thanks for All You do,
Tracy
There will be no work on Saturday August 9, 2025

July 18 update from Tracy
Hello Everyone, its time to get caught up on the happenings at the job site, more concrete has been added to both homes, just a strip along the south side of house 2 is all that remains to be poured and that has to wait until we get a bit more dirt hauled in and spread around. A host of people have been working on that as time allows, with a bit of luck it should be finished tomorrow, so when that is done it will be time to be thinking about fence.
Most of the landscaping post are in place and many are already filled with rock.
Dale has laid vinyl in the kitchen and utility room on house 1 and the cabinets are there waiting to be installed also interior doors have been brought to the job site so we can start installing them, next it will be time for molding, carpet tack strip and carpet pad.
House 2 has been insulated and I believe is ready for the first coats of interior paint tomorrow.
Thanks for All You do,
Tracy
July 7 update from Tracy
Good afternoon everyone just a quick update on progress at the build site,
House one, they are planning on painting interior walls this weekend and part of the sidewalk will be poured tomorrow. Jerry has been busy doing dirt work so landscaping timbers and rock will be going in place very soon. Siding, paint, soffit, and fascia are all on except for one piece on the west side.
House two, Bob and company have been busy and finished drywalling last Thursday so the finishers can start anytime now. Tomorrow the back stoop and sidewalk to the driveway is to be poured. All of outside work on the house I believe is finish, so getting dirt is taking place.
House three, is unfortunately still waiting for things to work through the system before we are going to be able to start on it. But we will get there just not as soon as everyone had hoped.
Thanks for all You do,
Tracy

May 12 update from Tracy
Hello Everyone,
Just wanted to give everyone a quick update on progress at the build site. As of Saturday, both homes are ready for shingles. Blueboard, house wrap, and windows are completed, and siding started on the first home, blueboard is nearly complete on the second. Both are also going to have framing inspections Tuesday morning. So tomorrow we will be working on finishing the blueboard, putting on house wrap, corners for siding and forming for a garden shed.
We have somewhere in the neighborhood of 18 volunteers going to be here Thursday and Saturday that will be able to help run concrete for the garden shed on Thursday and hopefully erect it Saturday along with siding, marking house wrap and anything else we can find for them to work on.
Thanks for all You do!!!
Tracy
Building is off to a great start!
Hello Everyone,
Build season has gotten off to good start, we have two homes framed, one has sheating on the roof the other roof is about 1/4 sheated the first home has blueboard installed and ready for tyvex, windows, doors and siding. Still need to make sure sub-fasica is straight and nail down the outside edge before shingles. Also, part of the cement board around the base has been installed House two needs sub-fasica put on and rest of sheating put on. At this time roofers are lined up to shingle both homes on 26th of May. So hopefully we can have the second garden shed ready for shingles by then.
At this time, we are hoping to be able to begin on house three around the first of June.
Thanks for All You do,
Tracy
